Das Mega Mini Open Air Konzert mit Loonaloop findet bei Elektro Franke im Industriegebiet Lichtenau bei Immeldorf im Grünen statt. Gleich Urlaubstag nehmen. Camping am Straßenrand und Zelten auf der Wiese ist kostenlos möglich. Es wird einen Imbisswagen geben, und es wird gegrillt.

Songwriter Rock aus Franken?
Ein Singer-Songwriter-Duo und seine Band machen Songwriter-Rock. Was auch sonst? Gitarren, Bass, Schlagzeug, Klavier, Akkordeon, Orgel, Mandoline und Mundharmonikas – mehr braucht der Mensch nicht zum Glücklichsein.
Weil der Mensch aber nicht immer glücklich ist, macht er Lieder. Und auch wenn er glücklich ist, macht er welche. Weil er sich immer mitteilen will. So auch wir. Wir sind Giftwood. Wir singen und spielen die Melodien, wie sie fallen, und schälen Songs aus dem Holz des Giftwood Forest wie Archäologen Vasen ausgraben.
Eine Band sind wir, wie sie im Buche steht. Weil wir das werden wollten, wenn wir groß sind. Eine Band, die richtige Songs spielt, ohne Brimborium, sondern auf den Punkt und wie sich’s gehört, und bei der vor allem zweistimmig gesungen wird! „Forest Rock“ haben wir diese Musik einmal genannt, und der Name bezieht sich auf diesen Ort, den Giftwood Forest, in dem immer 1972 ist. Oder 1995. Oder 1966. Daraus nehmen wir vor allem eine Maxime mit auf die Bühne, die in jeder einzelnen Note steckt und uns ganz wichtig ist: Die Sonne scheint für alle.

Dieter Vatter – am Herrieder Tor in Ansbach auf dem Altstadtfest
Liedermacher aus Mittelfranken
Dieter Vatter sieht sich in der Tradition der leider fast vergessenen Liedermacher der 60er und 70er Jahre, einer Zeit politischer und gesellschaftlicher Umbrüche. Er singt an gegen die Ungerechtigkeit in der Welt, warnt vor dem Aufkommen der Neo-Nazis und prangert die Zerstörung der Umwelt an.
Er steht seit Jahrzehnten auf der Bühne – jetzt zum ersten Mal mit einem Soloprojekt.
Dieter Vatter singt vom Leben und der Liebe, über Umwelt und Ungerechtigkeit, Rechtsradikalismus, Gleichgültigkeit und hemmungslose Konsumgier – mal voller Wut, mal voll Zärtlichkeit – mit Standpunkt und Aussage. Klare Worte, kritische Texte, mal böse, mal sarkastisch, mal melancholisch, mal mit Galgenhumor, laute und leise Töne.
Stilistisch bunt, von anglo-amerikanischen Folkeinflüssen über Fingerpicking – Songs und leichten Anleihen bei der Rockmusik, sind die eigenen Songs ein schillerndes Kaleidoskop der momentanen Befindlichkeit unseres Landes.
Für eine klare Botschaft braucht es dann auch nicht mehr als seine Stimme und eine Gitarre.

Liedermacher aus Mittelfranken
Kommt da noch was oder war´s das jetzt? Die Frage kann sich ein Musiker schon mal stellen, wenn er seit rund 50 Jahren auf der Bühne steht. Für Dieter Vatter kann es darauf nur eine Antwort geben: Es kommt noch was!
Muss es auch, denn plötzlich sind Themen wieder brandaktuell, die man schon in der Mottenkiste der Geschichte wähnte. Da trifft es sich gut, dass Dieter Vatter schon immer ein politischer Singer Songwriter war und geblieben ist. Seine markante Stimme ist fordernd, eindringlich, kratzbürstig und rauh – aber auch voller Zärtlichkeit, Sehnsucht und Poesie. Seine Texte, mit einem Schuss Melancholie und bittersüßer Ironie den Blick auf das Hier und Jetzt gerichtet, haben nichts an Brisanz verloren. Seine klaren Worte gegen Neo-Nazis, Jung- und Alt-Faschisten und den Alltagsrassismus sind heute wichtiger denn je. Für eine klare Botschaft braucht es dann auch nicht mehr als seine Stimme und eine Gitarre.
Ob Kleinkunstbühne oder Straßenmusik, ob Folk-Festival oder Jazz-Club, ob Solo, Duo, Trio oder noch größere Besetzung – Dieter Vatter ist sich in seiner langen, musikalischen Karriere treu geblieben. Ende der 1970-Jahre war es das Duo „Schrott & Spott“, mit der sich kritisch mit der bundesrepublikanischen Realität auseinandersetzte, mit „Wunder, Wahn und Wirklichkeit“ ging es dann weiter kreuz und quer durch die Spielstätten im Land. Für Dieter Vatter war der Super-GAU in Tschernobyl Anlass zur Gründung von „Los Becquerellos“ sein Beitrag zu Auseinandersetzung mit dem Thema Atomkraft. Mit „Ravenheart“ lotete Dieter Vatter das breite Spektrum des Folk-Rock aus, und mit dem Quintett „Harte Arbeit, karger Lohn“ war der „Independent-Chanson“ geboren.
Weiter, immer weiter – könnte der Schlachtruf des Liedermachers lauten. Doch die Schlacht ist seine Sache nicht.
Es kommt also noch was. Das ist für Dieter Vatter ebenso wichtig, wie für sein Publikum. Denn nur so ist es möglich, immer wieder mal zu überprüfen, ob der (politische) Kompass noch stimmt.
Nicht die schlechteste Idee, in Zeiten, in denen man sich auf dem Weg zurück in die Zukunft fühlt.
